I was pre approved on a $45,000 house through a bank on an FHA loan.
The seller raised his price $10,000, so that was that. I’ve made an offer of $30,000 on another home. My real estate agent NOW tells me the FHA appraiser will have to declare the house “fit” for an FHA loan as well as appraise it high enough to get the loan. The government wants to make sure the house does not become a foreclosure in the future. It won’t since I’ll be inheriting a large house. But, we are not allowed to show the facts to the appraiser. WHAT are the things the appraiser will be looking for, to approve it for an FHA loan, or not?
it is not a mobile home, but a 50 year ancient house. i was pre-approved on a $45k FHA loan, pending all the things they do like the appraisal. No one mentioned that the appraiser could prevent the deal due to FHA standards. Anyone know the standards they’ll be looking for? the house has been for sale for over 2 years. It is 50 years ancient. The government should know already that their program is to help low income people into some sort of home, even a very ancient one with defects.
