Can you get an FHA loan on a foreclosed house (empty) with a septic system?
I’ve been pre-approved for an FHA home loan. One of the houses I looked at was a foreclosure that has been vacant for several months. This house has a septic system and is not in an area where city sewer is an option.
When I talked to my realtor about putting an offer on the house, he said that I would not be able to get an FHA loan on it because there was no way to test the septic system unless it has been in use for 30 days.
Does anyone know if this is right?
