FHA loan–Who takes the hit for this screw up?

My husband and I are trying to buy a home from a FHA finance company. It has been a nightmare! The mortgage company has dropped the ball again. They ordered an appraisel from a non-FHA appraisor and the sales agreement will expire Sunday. We were supposed to last Friday, then they went it to this Friday because it was not out of underwriting. I may lose the house. The lender has been a disaster avoiding calls and just lacks urgency. Who will pay for all the attorney, title, and appraisal work that is done if this falls through? I am in Mississippi.

    1. Carolinahomerates.com says:

the attorney/title will not get paid….they only get paid if the house closes. The appraiser will depend on if you place a deposit with the lender or you paid the appraiser directly.

If you did neither…then you dont have to pay.

YOu might want to worry about the seller keeping your earnest money deposit
