Some states have a list and some don't. What state are you in?
I'm not sure on the process for HUD but I reckon it is similar to the process for Section 8.
If you are already approved for housing, check with your worker on if you can rent his house or not.
For Section 8 in Oregon they do not give you a list. You have to find something that fits within the rent amount they approved you for on your own. You and the landlord have forms to fill out, they come do an inspection to make sure everything works and that the house meets their standards and then you can go in.
