How long will HUD pay your rent for you?

A friend of mine is on HUD ..I guess HUD pays her rent every month …I guess im a small frustrated cause every thing she has is paid 4 by the us gov,,day care , rent , food ..
she only has to pay partial on her utilitys as well…and im a single mother of 3 and i pay all my bills on my own..so i feel she should also not get a free ride…how long willl hud pay her rent..and yes she is working

    They will pay as long as she is working, low income and has children. If any of those change, or she gets married, her voucher will be made available to someone else.

    They don't pay her rent, as you are assuming. 30% of her income goes to rent, and they pick up the rest.
