If i buy a HUD home, will I have to get it fixed before i can live in it?

So if I buy a HUD home, will I be able to go into it before I fix everything with it?

Or do I have to fix it, pass an inspection, and then i can finally live there?

      It has to be fixed and pass inspection in order to get the loan.
