Saturday, August 22nd, 2009We are considering moving to Kansas City, MO in December and plot to live in a HUD apartment complex. I am in college and my boyfriend works full time to support our daughter and I. We come from a small town and I am worried about the crime in Kansas City especially in HUD housing but unfortunately we cannot afford anything else right now. My boyfriend is commuting to Kansas City everyday but with gas prices we cannot afford the commute and have to go. So if anyone could recommend a nice HUD apartment we’d greatly appreciate it.

HUD is the Department of Housing and Urban Development which finances housing complexes
for low income seniors and families. I live in HUD housing now and pay one-third of my income for rent. HUD pays the rest.
SO I know that Section 8 also pays rent on the same basis. But what exactly is Section 8 housing. When I tried to apply for it, they told me the "list was closed". The only answer I have gotten is not right. Would someone please help me?
