We are due to close on our house next Tuesday. Our interest rate is 6.75% on an FHA. This past Tuesday, the interest rate was lowered by .5% by the Federal Reserve to help with the economy, etc. Do you reckon our mortgage company will lower our rate now that this has occurred? I hope they do because we haven’t signed anything just yet besides some pre-approval paperwork and I would reckon we could get a better deal now…there or elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

I was pre-approved for a home loan, I did some looking and now have the house I want. 30 days later my Mtg Loan is still sitting on an underwriters desk… is this happening to everyone?
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? .. I am really worried of the seller taking away the house. =0(

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009I’m self employed don’t have the greatest credit score,then again I only pay for one car loan and that’s it.No credit card expenses.Have already applied for an FHA with one lender,and I’m waiting for an answer soon,should I go after other lenders or just wait?

Are Fannie mae Homepath loans as picky as FHA to be approved?
Saturday, September 19th, 2009I heard FHA has a lot of requirements, like the house must have a stove (also I reckon it needs a working heater?)
What about Fannie Mae? are they as picky to close with a homepath loan on one of their foreclosures?
Also do you know where I can get a list of what the house must have installed, be in working order, ect. for the loan to be approved for both FHA and Fannie Mae? (I tried a search on google, and could not find it, but maybe I need better keywords. I’m not used to real estate terms)
