Why do I pay full year taxes on HUD home?
On my GFE given to me by the mortgage company it has me paying 1900.00 for taxes and I will pay like 158.00 a month for them as well. I know about the 158.00 a month because it’s going towards next year’s taxes but why the 1900.00?
Also, the taxes should not be that high for my area, my mortgage company said it’s because right the now the owner of the house is HUD and it’s considered a investor property. He told me I could go to the tax office once everything is said and done and they will lower them for next year and my monthly payment will go back down to what we thought it would be. He also stated I would get a refund for anything I’ve over paid.
Does all that sound right? And what about the 1900.00, where does that go, that should have already been paid by HUD at the start of the year, why do I have to pay that???
Thanks for any info. anyone could give
