what is difference between section 8 housing and hud housing?
I want to apply for an apt. in california
HUD is the Department of Housing and Urban Development which finances housing complexes
for low income seniors and families. I live in HUD housing now and pay one-third of my income for rent. HUD pays the rest.
SO I know that Section 8 also pays rent on the same basis. But what exactly is Section 8 housing. When I tried to apply for it, they told me the "list was closed". The only answer I have gotten is not right. Would someone please help me?

Section 8 is government subsidized housing. HUD is usually homes for sale that require improvement.
